BUFFY SAINT MARIE I am of the same generation as Buffy. I am blessed to have been around to witness a magnificent phenomenon. In an age when being native was a shame – by misinformation given to white children in regular school and beatings and brutality given to native children in Residential Schools – you, Buffy, brought dignity and pride to native children and a curiosity and desire to learn the truth to white children. Perhaps we would still be in the dark ages if it wasn’t for you. Not that we are out of the dark yet but at least there are not more Residential Schools and some movement is being made for Truth and Reconciliation. And we have a wonderful serving of music, culture, philosophy, dress to enjoy. And most of all ancient wisdom. Thank you, Buffy.
