Pink Pistachios is my story. It is my attempt to make sense of something that happened in the 70s. I was a young adult. I was curious and enthusiastic, I believe, I was intelligent. I was working on my master's so I wasn’t a complete dummy. I first wrote a poem. To explain and understand what happened. Not enough. Then a one-act play. Not enough. Then a three-act play and finally a story.

The dialogue is real. The building, real. The Characters are real – but with different names. It won’t fool any of the participants. So, for that, I apologize - if you happen to read this. You will know. And maybe I didn’t see it as you saw it. Maybe, we always see events differently than everyone who sees them - from our own settings, baggage, desires and fears.

But what happened back then is still with me and still colours my world

It was a tragedy. As real and as visceral as they can get.

And I still remember it as if it were yesterday.
